Is anyone else utterly disappointed in the Book depository at the moment?

They have been so awesome for so long but it seems that with their rise in popularity they have responded with a rather LARGE RISE in prices (they now equal our retail in some tittles) and sub standard service all of a sudden.

Maybe Im just throwing a tantrum but Ive been waiting for nearly 5wks now for my latest purchase.

A few transactions failed to go through for no apparent reason and they never even e mailed me to let me know they had been cancelled.
Not only that but I used to enjoy finding bargains for you but now it just looks like Im peddling crap cause I need the money, so not cool.

The Shopping List OR How to get your kids to eat more fruit.

Ruben's LoooOOves making fruit skewers.

He loves the whole process especially the buying as he choose's the fruit himself.

We decide what we want on ours and he writes a separate shopping list for each person.

Let me translate.

      5.Cucumber 

(Yep, cucumber on a fruit skewer... I say nothing)

I am glad he comes with me, id be in all sorts trying to decipher these.

Im not sure how I missed this one, it was posted way back in November so im sure you good bloggers have already seen it.

I love her style, have to say its not what I expected, Im not exactly sure what I expected? maybe just not so much an eclectic industrial vintage vibe and perhaps more a clean lined contemporary feel.

Goes to show, one must never assume.

Kitchen love

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your lovely comments about our beloved Jaspy.

It really really helped.

The boys are smiling again :-)

It took me a while to remove his meal tray from the corner of the kitchen :-(

It sat there until yesterday and when I removed it I had an over whelming urge to clean and de clutter.

So that's what I did, I purged and cleaned and re arranged the likes of which this house has never seen, now my oven is sparkling the drawers are organised and im ready for the new island bench Ive been working on.

Scouring the files of Elle decor today I found this and it took my breath away.

Everything about this is perfect to me right now.

Oh my that table...

Im a sucker for ANYTHING old on castors.

A letter for Jasper, Goodbye my friend.

My heart is heavy.

I feel like Ive closed a chapter.

I watched you enter this world. 

I was just a teenager.

I was holding you as you closed your eyes.

As a grown up.

I witnessed the full circle.

18 years you were there for me, you witnessed the many stages of my life. 

Forever loyal you protected me, when my babies came along you didn't flinch, you loved the boys as much as we do and you shared your love equally between all of us.

 It will take some time to adjust, 18 years is a very long time.

I can still hear you saying good morning

And asking for dinner now please

Meowing "They're ok" from the boys bed as I check on them in the dark of night

And goodnight as you snuggle in with me, I still feel you,

I probably will for some time yet.

Im so grateful to have had so much time.

Thank you.

We love you.

We will miss you Jaspy.

Ahhhh Cath

You all know how much I adore Cath I find I turn to her more than usual in times of need (along with my beloved Brocante home of course).

There is so much awful around us at the moment, im not sure I could be any more numb from the horrors coming out of Queensland, it is incomprehensible, my heart goes out to everyone affected.

We have also had some sadness of our own.  

When times get tough I find myself needing to indulge in domestic pursuits cleaning, puttering, redecorating and basically trying to make things feel right for my family again. I reach out for colour, beautiful colour. I think you'll agree Cath Kidston is the perfect remedy.

Where would I find a pink dish rack like that one?

I think one of those would make me feel a little better.

Im a fan.

Firstly.

Happy new year my lovelies.

Yay my first post of 2011... a photo of an ugly fan... hmmm not so lovely but after doing a quick blog hop of my faves this morning I saw Alicia's post on her new fan and GASP... it is EXACTLY the same as this one I picked up yesterday for $5 at my local salvage yard so I took that as a sign and just had to show you now instead of waiting until I had restored it.

This is after id cleaned it too! it was FILTHY, literally caked in dirt 3mm thick.

 Its not such a good photo as you cant see the perfectly retro blue base but trust me.

She is gorgeous.

She was going to sit up high on my fridge out of harms way (to little fingers) but now that I know she can go on the wall I'll be doing that.

I have so much to bore you with  tell you all,

like why I was at the salvage yard at all??? and why my back room appears to have been invaded by tables...

We have had a busy wonderful holiday season, the other half is back at work now allowing me to reinstate something similar to normal routine.

I feel recharged and healthy and im looking forward to spending this year with you all.

And as I feel a first post it is somewhat symbolic of how one intends to continue, here's some random photo's of loveliness as I do wish to see more loveliness this year.
