Its still all about kitchens

We want wall panelling similar to this.

Last three all via house to home.

This would have to be my favourite.
I am going to need to recycle the kitchen we already have which means keeping the timber bench top...for now... Im aiming for soapstone one day.

The Kitchen obsession begins...again

My kitchen obsession has been seriously reignited.

via house to home

Ours needs to be a Galley style, long and skinny.

Never short of inspiration in blog land.

If you know of any cool kitchen sites do tell.

Kitchen love

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your lovely comments about our beloved Jaspy.
It really really helped.
The boys are smiling again :-)

It took me a while to remove his meal tray from the corner of the kitchen :-(
It sat there until yesterday and when I removed it I had an over whelming urge to clean and de clutter.

So that's what I did, I purged and cleaned and re arranged the likes of which this house has never seen, now my oven is sparkling the drawers are organised and im ready for the new island bench Ive been working on.

Scouring the files of Elle decor today I found this and it took my breath away.

Everything about this is perfect to me right now.
Oh my that table...
Im a sucker for ANYTHING old on castors.

Im addicted to Cath Kidston! Can you help?

Happy Monday my Lovelies.

I know Ive been a bad blogger lately.
Ive promised photo's of this and that and explanations and whatnot and Ive delivered none.

All sorts of important nonsense took my hand and led me away from my computer and Ive only just made it back.
I will make up for it this week!

Doing an image search this morning for more Cath Kidston inspiration I found something really disturbing!

This photo!
How come I never knew this existed?

Im sure Ive mentioned it before, this kitchen is my all time favourite ever in the whole entire world bar none ever! true!

I first encountered it here like this.
I fell hard for Paul Massey's London home (He has since sold it I believe, shame I didn't have a spare couple of $Mill that week!)

Then I saw it here looking like this
Image Via here

As The delicious miss Dahl's kitchen.
And I fell even harder
(She has finally made it to our shores via foxtel but more on that latter, have I mentioned how much I adore Sophie Dahl?)

But now to see it like this with a Cath  Makeover Im simply beside myself.

When did this happen? How did I miss this?
And how can I get more?
I must know?
Can you help?

Righty-yo  then, Im off to Cath up my kitchen!

Bench seat love

This beautiful piece belongs to Samantha from the nest, (Love her blog, you must go check)

You see Ive moved things around a bit in my kitchen, it wasn't working for me. I had put an island bench where there really was no room for one and It seems that lately everyone's been bumping into each other, falling over each other and generally getting in the way, it was becoming frustrating and I was annoyed at myself for making what is a pretty good sized kitchen unnecessarily small, we ended up with stacks of unused space behind the island and no-one was using it to sit at anyway.

This house is small enough and I had effectively made our most important room smaller and non-functional.

Brilliant

See here

And with the door open
The stools were moved to this side because the door kept opening on people.

Which then gave us very little room on this side, the busy side.

The other side (and my beloved op shop find pantry... Adore..Sigh)

I still really like this layout, just not for a family with busy kids.
See the wasted space.
Not to mention that the lights visually lower the ceiling height.
I knew all this at the time but im so stubborn I convinced myself Id be able to live with it.

All because I fell head over heels for that table.
I was going to incorporate it regardless.
I love that table.
But I love my family more.
And my sanity.
So the table has to go.

Here's where the bench seat comes in.

The inside of Samantha's bench

I want somewhere comfortable to sit so people can hang out with me in the kitchen.
We need a place for Ruben to dump his school bag and stuff.
Perfect solution.
Im just not sure where to find one around here.
Do these even exists in this country?
Id love an old one .
New will be absolutely fine though.

Any Ideas.
Has anyone seen these in Aus?
xx

P.S. I received my very first blog award the other day from the lovely  Laura of My summerhouse, thank you so much Laura, ill be posting about it soon.

Rustic Kitchen love

There is something about each of these I love.
The charm
The proportions
The rustic timbers
The sense of space
The natural light

Whatever it is
Id feel at home here

The Aga

More files for the new kitchen. So much for staying focused on the boys room...ahem...
I know I want an Aga, I have always loved them, whether I get one or not is another story.

I don't necessarily love all these kitchens (except for the first two) but I was drawn to them all for the love of the Aga.
I wonder what they are really like to use?

Kitchen fireplaces, I really want one.

Its getting cold here, winter is approaching, im a fan of winter, the cosiness, the food, the homey atmosphere.

Its about this time I start dreaming of fireplaces, we have none but id love at least one, oh the luxury of having a kitchen fireplace... sigh... nothing says loving cosy home more,  everything I am about.
